ASHRAE energy audits
An energy audit shows where a building uses energy, where it wastes it, and what each fix would cost and save. We follow the ASHRAE audit standard, so the results stand up with lenders, boards and incentive programs.

What it is and why it matters
ASHRAE Standard 211 defines three levels of commercial energy audit. Level 1 is a walk-through and utility bill analysis that flags the obvious opportunities. Level 2 adds a detailed survey and calculates the savings, cost and payback of each measure. Level 3 is an investment-grade analysis for major capital projects.
Audits cover the whole building: envelope, heating and cooling plant, ventilation, domestic hot water, lighting, controls and plug loads.
For condominiums and rental buildings, an audit is also the starting point for reserve fund planning, incentive applications and a longer-term decarbonization plan.
Our approach
We benchmark utility bills and interval data against similar buildings to find where the building stands.
We walk the plant, roof and suites, test the controls and talk to the operators.
Each energy conservation measure comes with its savings, cost, payback and emissions reduction.
We rank the measures into a no-cost, low-cost and capital plan, and flag the incentives each one qualifies for.
