What is building energy modelling?
Whole-building energy simulation combines building geometry, envelope specifications, mechanical and electrical systems, and local weather data to predict hourly energy use.
Compliance may be measured against relative or absolute targets. The Toronto Green Standard uses tiered targets, while CMHC applications compare the design with an NECB reference building.
