Beyond the Build: speaking at the 2026 OHBA Annual Conference
David Pour, President & CEO of sTrack Energy, joined the panel for “Beyond the Build: Technology, Performance & Customer Experience” at the Ontario Home Builders’ Association Annual Conference at Blue Mountain Resort, alongside LG Electronics Canada and Reid’s Heritage Homes.

The session
The session opened with a presentation from David Kim of LG Electronics Canada, using the evolution of heating and cooling technology as a case study in how innovation is improving performance, efficiency, reliability and the homeowner experience. A moderated panel then widened the conversation, bringing low-rise and high-rise builders together with building performance and energy modelling expertise.
On the panel

What we discussed
The panel looked at where housing technology is headed and how advances in products and building systems are translating into real-world results. One message came through clearly: today’s heat pump and VRF systems are engineered for the Canadian climate, giving builders more confidence in performance, efficiency and reliability.
David’s perspective focused on the link between technology choices and measurable building performance: how the right systems, supported by energy modelling, quality control and verification, help projects meet increasingly stringent energy targets, including CMHC’s new requirements, while reducing post-occupancy service and warranty issues and delivering a better experience for homeowners.
Thank you to the Ontario Home Builders’ Association for the invitation, to LG Electronics Canada for leading the conversation, and to Thomas McLaughlin, David Kim and Tara Ballantyne for a practical and engaging discussion.
