Savings by Design at the OAA Conference 2026
At the Ontario Association of Architects Conference in the Waterloo Region, David Pour co-presented “Savings by Design: Systems for High Performance Construction” with Alexander Colvin and Lloyd Grinham, in a session hosted by Enbridge Gas.
The session
The session focused on the Integrated Design Process (IDP): bringing architects, engineers, energy specialists and developers together early in a project. Working this way leads to fewer redesigns, better-informed decisions and buildings that perform better once they are occupied.
Some of the biggest energy savings on a project don’t come from a single piece of equipment. They come from decisions made before a wall section is drawn, supported by early energy modelling.
